In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Karelia № 526r-P Evgeny Zhirnel’ (Vice-director for science in the Institute of Economics) joined the Project Management Office of the Republic of Karelia on the implementation of the best practices of the National ranking investment climate in the Russian Federation.

August 26, 2015 researchers of the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of the RAS participated in a video conference, which was held at the International Forum ‘The new models of cross-border and inter-regional cooperation for the development of regions of Russia’, held on the basis of Institute of cross-border cooperation and integration (Belgorod).

Egor Michel (researcher, Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre) participated in the training ‘Migration processes and international relations: experience and potential of non-profit organizations’. The event was held under the program ‘Resource Center for socially-oriented non-profit organizations of the North-West of the Russian Federation, who are working with the problems of labor migration’ (funded by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation).

August 13, 2015 Lubov Kulakova (scientific secretary of the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS) took part in the meeting with Aleksandr Hynninen (the authorized representative of the President of the Russian Federation). The results of the pilot testing of the National rating were discussed in the meeting. This work was conducted by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives in 2014. Best practices of the authorities to entrepreneurs to optimize existing policies and procedures of public services and examples of successful development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the regions were presented during the meeting.

July 29, 2015 Director of the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of Russian Academy of Sciences took part in the meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Karelia. The meeting was devoted to the implementation of the outcome of the subprogram ‘Development of Small and Medium Enterprises’ (the state program ‘Economic development and innovation economy of the Republic of Karelia’ in 2014 and prospects for 2015).

July 20, 2015 a meeting with teachers and students of the Faculty of Geography of Lomonosov Moscow State University was held in the Institute of Economics Karelian Research Centre of RAS. Yuri Savelyev (Director of the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS) told the guests about the history, organizational structure and research of Karelian Research Centre of RAS and the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS. During the meeting, students learned about the socio-economic features, the current situation and future directions of development of the region.

July 11, 2015 Pavel Druzhinin (Head of the Department of the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS) became the president of the Russian Society for Ecological Economics for 2015-2017. This event took place at the 13th International scientific and practical conference of the Russian Society for Ecological Economics Theory and Practice of Economic Regulation of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection’ (held July 7-11 in Kazan).

July 3rd, 2015 Yuri Savelev (Director of the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS) took part in the organizing committee meeting on planning the Regional Business Forum on the problems and prospects of development of small and medium enterprises in the Republic of Karelia. Valentin Chmil’ (Deputy Head of the Republic (Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Karelian)) and Sergey Alimpiev (Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Karelia) attended the meeting.

June 29, 2015 Lubov Kulakova (Scientific Secretary of the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS) participated in the first public hearing "The potential of rural areas as the basis for the preservation and development of the cultural environment in Russia" The main organizers of the event are the Civic Chamber of Russian Federation on development of agriculture and culture within the framework of the project "Live, village, keep Russia!".

June 25, 2015 joint meeting of the Presidium of the Karelian Research Centre of Russian Academy of Sciences and the Advisory Council of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Karelian took place in the Karelian Research Centre. Head of the Republic of Karelia Aleksandr Khudilainen and Deputy Head of the Republic (Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Karelian) Valentin Chimil’ attended the meeting.
