In the first part of the meeting, Yuri Saveliev (Director of the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS) presented the report Federal Target Programme for the Development of the Republic of Karelia for the period till 2020. Evgeny Zhirnel (Vice-Director for Science in the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS) presented co-report ‘The role and tasks of the Federal program for increasing the investment attractiveness of the Republic of Karelia. Reports devoted to the implementation of projects in the forestry and the mining complex were presented by the Director of the Institute of Geology of Karelian Research Centre of RAS and by the Director of the Forest Research Institute of Karelian Research Centre of RAS. After the presentations there was a discussion. Head of the Republic of Karelia Aleksandr Khudilainen and speakers answered the questions of journalists and participants of the meeting. In the second part of the meeting Ekaterina Molchanova (Senior Research Associate in the Department of Modeling and Forecasting Regional Development in Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS) presented the report Evaluation and simulation of medical and demographic processes in Russia.
