July 20, 2015
July 20, 2015 a meeting with teachers and students of the Faculty of Geography of Lomonosov Moscow State University was held in the Institute of Economics Karelian Research Centre of RAS. Yuri Savelyev (Director of the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS) told the guests about the history, organizational structure and research of Karelian Research Centre of RAS and the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS. During the meeting, students learned about the socio-economic features, the current situation and future directions of development of the region.
Evgeny Zhirnel’ (Vice-Director for Science in the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS) told about structural changes in the economy of Karelia. Special interest of visitors caused the development of tourism, cross-border cooperation and the labor market. At the end of the meeting the latest publication of the institutes were presented to the guest . Students were invited to the VII Youth Economic Forum.
Maria Goryachko (Associate Professor of the Department of Economic and Social Geography Russian in Lomonosov Moscow State University) thanked the administration of the Institute for organizing an interesting meeting and expressed hope for further cooperation in the field of scientific and educational projects and activities.
