7-11 June 2015 Ivan Timakov took part in Fulbright Program Summer School ‘Sustainable development of agglomerations’, held in conjunction with the National Research University ‘Higher School of Economics’ (Moscow).

The working meeting ‘Prospects of cooperation between Karelia University of Applied Sciences and the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS’ was organized in The Institute of Economics on June 15. The meeting was held within the framework of the agreement on cooperation and intention to develop this cooperation through joint projects.

The Second International Conference ‘THE PERSPECTIVES OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF BORDER REGIONS’ was held June 10, 2015 in the Karelian Research Center of RAS.

June 4, 2015 the director of the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS Yuriy Savelyev participated in a press conference and a teleconference with Moscow as an expert. Head of the Republic of Karelia AP Khudilainen also participated in the press conference. The press conference was devoted to the approval of the program "Complex social-economic development of the Republic of Karelia for the period till 2020" by the Russian Government.

May 29, 2015 Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of the RAS staff participated in the Third Forum of active citizens and non-profit organizations "Community." Vice-Director for Science Evgeny Zhirnel’ moderated on session "The development of small areas." Experts Lev Gordon, Eugene Goman and Dmitry Sazonov and representatives of small settlements took part in the discussion on problems and perspectives of socio-economic development of small territories in current situation.
