The working meeting ‘Prospects of cooperation between Karelia University of Applied Sciences and the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS’ was organized in The Institute of Economics on June 15. The meeting was held within the framework of the agreement on cooperation and intention to develop this cooperation through joint projects.
Yuri Saveliev (Director of the Institute of Economics), Lybov Kulakova (Scientific secretary of the Institute of Economics), Evgeny Zhirnel’ (Vice-director for science of the Institute of Economics) and Anastasia Vasilieva (Assistant director for international cooperation in the Institute of Economics) took part in the working meeting. Karelia University of Applied Sciences was represented by the lecturer Mikko Lahti and Head of Academic affairs Raimo Moilanen. Igor Shevchuk (Non-profit Partnership ‘Centre for Problems of the North, Arctic and Cross-border Cooperation’, director) and Aleksandr Rumiantsev (Small innovative enterprise ‘Arvata’) also took part in the discussion of the agenda, which included the presentation of experiences in projects, lines for cooperation and project ideas.



Visit to NGO ‘Rychei zhizni’ (Kondopogsky district) was organized in the second part of the meeting. Participants got acquainted with the farm work and the development of projects that have a social value for local community. This experience was presented by the entrepreneur Nadezhda Varlevskaya.
