March 3, 2016 Yuri Saveliev (Director of the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of Russian Academy of Sciences) took part in the meeting of the Government of the Republic of Karelia.

March 3, 2016, Yuri Saveliev (Director of the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of Russian Academy of Sciences) took part in a working meeting with the Head of the Republic of Karelia (Alexander Khudilainen) and a meeting on the implementation of project management and increasing the Government of the Republic of Karelia efficiency. Yuri took part in these events as a member of the delegation of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. As a result of the meeting it was decided to organize a series of strategic sessions with the participation of businessmen and representatives of public organizations in the Institute of Economics. A set of key projects development for the socio-economic development of the Republic of Karelia is the aim of these sessions.

The Head of Karelia awarded the title "Honored Scientist of the Republic of Karelia" to Pavel Druzhinin (head of department of Institute of Economics) for his great contribution to the development of basic research in the regional economy, the training of highly qualified personnel.
