May 22, 2015, Deputy Director for Science of the KarRC RAS Institute of Economics Evgeny Zhirnel attended a meeting of a working group to assist in attracting investments into the economy of the Republic of Karelia, which was held at the Ministry of Economic Development of the RK. The meeting was opened by the Deputy Head of the Republic of Karelia Valentin Chmil’. The experts discussed the investment project "Organization of the workpiece and complete processing of wood under Olonets region", "Manufacture of laminated wooden beams in the production area in village Kharlu in Pitkarantsky municipal district" and "Organization of the agro-industrial complex in Sortavala region of Karelia".
