The roundtable was organized by the National Library of the Republic of Karelia. The interaction between all branches of government for the development of tourism, ways to support the tourist industry, attracting tourists to the region and investment in the industry were discussed at the round table.
Natalia Belenko (Head of the Regional Development of Tourism Department of State tourism development and tourism security of the Federal Tourism Agency) summarized the experience of the Russian Federation on the implementation of tourist products, Yuri Oleynikov (Deputy Prime Minister of the Moscow Region) introduced the practice of working with investors in the tourist sphere of the Moscow region, Alex Lesonen (Deputy Minister of culture of the Republic of Karelia) presented the integrated projects of the republic in the sphere of tourism.
Roundtable participants (representatives of the Vologda region, representatives of the executive and the municipal authorities of the Republic of Karelia and tour operators) discussed prospects for cooperation in the development of tourist offers in the framework of the project "Silver Necklace".

September 9, 2015 Yuri Savelyev (Director of the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of Russian Academy of Sciences) and Evgeny Zhirnel’ (Vice-Director for Science in the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS) took part in the round table "Inter-municipal cooperation: support for the practice of tourism business and a tourist attraction for the development of territories", which was held with the participation of the Head of the Republic of Karelia Alexandr Khudilainen.
