Director of the KarRC RAS Institute of Economics Yuri Saveliev presented the main features of the Strategy. The participants discussed the existing problems of the districts and proposed their solutions including tools and activities. Given that the district has two company towns (Segezha and Nadvoitsy) special attention in the discussion was devoted to the role of core enterprises. In addition, the authors talked about events to support small and medium-sized businesses. An important place in the strategy also takes a social unit events, from the implementation of which depends on the attractiveness of the area for residents.
The strategy of Segezha district was developed by the KarRC RAS Institute of Economics on the basis of a municipal contract entered by an open tender. The strategy has been prepared with the active participation of all interested members of the community: the district administration, managers and professionals administrations settlement area, entrepreneurs, leaders and representatives of the core enterprises, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, local media, active citizens.

February 27, 2015 The Institute of Economics Karelian Research Centre hosted a seminar on Strategy of socio-economic development of Segezha municipal district until 2020. The seminar was attended by members of the Institute, representatives of the Administration Segezha municipal district, deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Karelia, experts and entrepreneurs.
