April 5, 2016 The strategic session "Improving the efficiency of interaction with the natural monopolies" was organized by the Institute of Economics, the Public Chamber of the Republic of Karelia, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to promote new projects, the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Karelia, the Commissioner for the Protection of the rights of entrepreneurs in the Republic of Karelia. The meeting was held within the framework of strategic sessions devoted to the elaboration of priority development projects of the republic.

April 1, 2016 Evgeny Zhirnel’ (Vice-Director for Science in the Institute of Economics of Karelian Research Centre of RAS) participated (as chairman) in the meeting of the tender commission on the provision of subsidies to NGOs for projects in 2016. Projects will be supported in the framework of sub-program "Improving the efficiency of implementation of the youth policy of the Republic of Karelia" and "Patriotic Education of Russian citizens residing in the territory of the Republic of Karelia."

March 31, 2016 Oleg Tolstoguzov (Head of Department of the Institute of Economics) took part in the meeting of the Public Advisory Council under the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service for the Republic of Karelia. The results for 2015 were presented at the meeting. Karelian office took 15th place out of 84 in the all-Russian rating of territorial bodies.

Round table on "Ensuring access of local producers to markets" was held on March 29, 2016. The organizers of the round table were the Institute of Economics Karelian Research Centre of Russian Academy of Sciences, the Public Chamber of the Republic of Karelia, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to promote new projects, the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Karelia , the Commissioner for the Protection of the rights of entrepreneurs in the Republic of Karelia. The round table was held within the framework of strategic sessions devoted to the elaboration of priority development projects of the republic.

23-24 March 2016 Oleg Tolstoguzov, Olga Potasheva, Ludmila Rozanov (the Institute of Economics researches) took part in the 4 th Moscow Economic Forum "25 years of market reforms in Russia and in the world. What's next". Forum included the 15 conferences and 17 round tables of famous politicians, economists and public figures of Russian and international experts from 16 countries and 47 Russian regions.

March 22, 2016 strategy session on "Development of rural territories of Karelia and Rural Development" was held by the Institute of Economy in cooperation with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, the Public Chamber of the Republic of Karelia, Chamber of Commerce of Republic of Kareliaa and the Commissioner for the Protection of the rights of entrepreneurs in the Republic of Karelia.
